We are pleased to award the following scholarship in 2026 to Ross Cumming.
Ross is a baritone, who graduated in Music from the University of Aberdeen, and then completed his MMus in Performance with distinction at the Royal Northern College of Music, and a MMus in Opera at the Alexander Gibson Opera School, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He has been a Scottish Opera Emerging Artist in 2023-24 and again in 2025-25.
Ross will attend performances at Bayreuth in 2026 of Der Fliegende Holländer, Rienzi, and Parsifal, as well as the Scholarship holders’ concert. In addition the Richard Wagner Scholarship Foundation will arrange lectures, a tour of the Festival Theatre, visits to the Wagner and Liszt museums and other sightseeing and social events.
